Save the Dogs of Puerto Rico

We recently went on holiday to Puerto Rico and while it was beautiful and heart is broken for their homeless animals. We  drove alongside terrified dogs and cats that all appeared to be suffering from several medical conditions, most blatantly malnutrition.

Once I returned home, I started researching to learn more about their animal welfare programs and shelters. The results were shocking. Puerto Rico's animal shelters have a 99% euthanasia rate for animals.

I am so grateful to learn of the several amazing charities that recognize this problem and are working together to save these animals through fundraising, adoption, and working with the legislation to try to raise awareness of the importance of sterilization and animal care.
