Has anyone seen the documentary “Pet Fooled”on Netflix?? I watched this over the weekend and was mortified. Yet, why am I surprised? Processed food is not good for people and it is no different for our pets. I was shocked however, to learn that some bags of dog food are packed with enough preservatives to be “good” for 25 years. So even though the pet food brands market the products to be “natural” the exact opposite is true. WHO REGULATES PET FOOD? Here is a visual from The Truth about Pet food:
Long story short: Be careful and aware of what you are feeding your pets. Dollar store treats for your dog are likely relative to what a McDonald’s cheeseburger would be for a human. Eating healthy does not have to be complicated. There are plenty of real foods that animals can eat and love! Some examples of this are: apples (no core or seeds), blueberries, sweet potatoes, bananas, pumpkin, carrots, green beans, and the list goes on.
